Position Description:Position Summary:
The Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources (“AVCHR”) at LSU Health Sciences Center- New Orleans (“LSUHSC-NO”) is a strategic leader who recommends, develops, implements, administers, interprets, coordinates, and evaluates Human Resources strategies, policies, laws, programs and procedures pertaining to faculty and staff. The AVCHR oversees all central HR functions including AA/EEO, Benefits, Compensation, HR Information Systems, HR Policy, Labor and Employee Relations, Learning and Development, Organizational Effectiveness, Strategy and Operations, Workforce Metrics, Talent Acquisition and Transition Services for staff.

The AVCHR also fosters innovation and provides leadership for day-to day operations and to plan, develop, prioritize, implement and evaluate human resources programs, services and organizational development programs, employee relations, leadership and staff development, the evaluation process, staff diversity and EEO compliance, benefits, leaves of absence and workers’ compensation administration, litigation management; policy development and budget administration.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education - Bachelor's
Discipline(s) -Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university
Indicate the minimum number of years required to do the job 10
Progressive human resources management and leadership experience in a complex environment and professional human resources functions.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education - Master's
Discipline(s) - Human resources administration, business administration, organizational management or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university.
Certifications/Licenses Preferred -Certification from HRCI-SPHR and/or SHRM-SCP, and/or any other HRM certification.
Ten plus years of progressive human resources management and leadership experience in a complex environment with a demonstrated understanding of higher education. Experience in higher education institution in Louisiana. Experience in ERP system conversion.
