|Position Description:||The Associate Vice Chancellor, Human Resources (AVC-HR) is the Chief Human Resource Management Officer for the Virginia Community College System (VCCS) with offices located in the beautiful Arboretum Business Park off the Midlothian Turnpike, southwest of Richmond, Virginia.|

In partnership with the system’s 23 community college Presidents and HR Officers, the Associate Vice Chancellor plans and executes a system wide human resources consulting initiative to support the quality and effectiveness of each college’s talent acquisition, compensation/classification, diversity and inclusion, learning and talent development, employee relations and compliance programs that foster and sustain a diversified, equitable and inclusive work environment.
Reporting to the Senior Vice Chancellor for Administration, Finance and Technology, and as a member of the Chancellor’s cabinet, the AVC-HR also leads strategic projects such as Shared Services Center HR process management, enterprise HR systems development and strategic policy analysis and assessment that enhance and add value to the VCCS HR programs, services and shared governance structure.

To accomplish the above, qualified candidates must have a master’s degree and demonstrated successful senior executive human resource management experience in a complex organization. Previous experience must include strategic responsibility for overall Human Resource Programs and Services. The successful candidate will have proven leadership abilities along with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
