A Culturally Attuned Organizational Development Function: The Secret to a Hard-to-Predict Future

UK higher education is going through a period of unprecedented change (compounded by Brexit), creating a context where Universities need to rethink the way in which they structure themselves to deliver world class research and compete for the very best students. Within this context Human Resources functions are transforming themselves and repositioning themselves as strategic partners who are being given permission to innovate. This has witnessed the rise of organisational development within the sector. This session explores Lancaster University’s approach and how being culturally attuned and agile has contributed to them becoming University of the Year 2018 and has seen their sustained rise in the UK and global league tables.
