Embedding Diversity and Inclusion Strategies in the Talent Management Life Cycle: A Call to Action
The NCAA esteems inclusion as a core value and seeks to promote inclusive practices by engaging, valuing and celebrating individuals from different backgrounds, identities, philosophies and experiences. The pursuit of inclusive excellence in all aspects of the enterprise supports better decision-making and enhances the college athletics experience. The talent management life cycle has become the focus as the NCAA turns its efforts — both as a national office and an association of colleges, universities and affiliate members — to expanding diverse representation within leadership positions and embedding diversity and inclusion into hiring practices. In this session, we will discuss the theory and the practice of infusing diversity and inclusion recruitment strategies into the hiring process, and the opportunity for campus athletics and HR to partner on this goal.
