A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Numbers: Bringing Data to the Table with Effective Charts and Graphics
Data informs much of what we do in our modern institutions, from long-range planning to reporting to addressing sudden crises around campus. However, having data, and even understanding that data, is often not enough. We also have to communicate what we've learned, make recommendations and advocate for a certain approach. Communicating data is not easy, but it can be easier with visual aids like charts, graphs and infographics. In this session, we'll discuss practical considerations for creating effective presentations of data, including common mistakes, best practices and getting the most out of commonly available tools.
