Legal Update on Sexual Misconduct in the Employment Setting: The Application of Title IX and Title VII for Employees

In this session, two university attorneys will address institutional legal obligations pertaining to sexual misconduct in the employment setting. The session will explore the status of the U.S. Department of Education’s proposed regulations on Title IX and their applications, if any, to employment. The session will also explore litigation trends, focusing on actions where Title VII and Title IX intersect in the employment context. Presenters will distill practical tips from the case law to guide HR practitioners as they navigate these challenging issues and will offer practical guidance regarding what institutions should be doing to prepare for and/or implement federal regulations.
