HR in an International Context: The American University in Cairo Case Study

The American University in Cairo (AUC), a fully accredited American liberal arts institution founded in Egypt 100 years ago, provides a rich case study for HR practices. While AUC shares many common challenges with peer institutions in the United States, its location and diverse workforce offer unique vantage points on specific HR issues. In this session, we'll explore inclusion and diversity in a multicultural setting (with a mandate to internationalize faculty, staff and students); AUC's residential associates program (a recruitment tool for young international talents); the HR challenges shared between international universities and those in the U.S.; AUC's HR transformation journey; and staff exchange opportunities.
