Description:Determining the president's compensation is one of the core fiduciary duties of a college or university governing board, but the process frequently occurs with little to no guidance or support from HR. Learn how HR can provide guidance on the applicable laws and regulations around executive compensation and effective practices governing boards can use to make sure compensation is fair and competitive and will stand up to public scrutiny.

Description:As with all complex challenges facing higher education, racism and its effects on people and systems remains one of the toughest to meaningfully address. Taken from an American Council on Education report showcasing a rigorous case study of the racial crisis that occurred at the University of Missouri in 2015, this session will explore what we know about what leads to such a crisis and how to avoid one at a time of racial tension in our country.
