Embedding Diversity and Inclusion Strategies in Talent Management

The NCAA esteems inclusion as a core value and seeks to promote inclusive practices as acts of engaging, valuing and celebrating individuals from different backgrounds, identities, philosophies and experiences. The pursuit of inclusive excellence in all aspects of the enterprise supports better decision-making and enhances the college sports experience. Embedding diversity and inclusion into hiring practices and the talent management life cycle has become a prominent goal as the NCAA turns intentional focus — both as a national office and an association of colleges, universities and affiliate members — to expanding diverse representation within positions of leadership. In this session, we will discuss the theory and the practice of infusing diversity and inclusion recruitment strategies in your hiring process, and the opportunity for campus athletics and HR departments to partner on this goal.
