Description:Mentorship at University of Waterloo engages employees to share their experience and institutional knowledge. The success of this program stems from connecting the unconnected using unconventional pairings that invite participants to engage meaningfully in topics that matter the most ? individually and institutionally. This session will describe the design, implementation and evaluation of this program.

Description:The HR professional should play an integral role in solving the challenges facing colleges and universities today. Some experts theorize that the organizational model that has persisted for many decades in modern colleges and universities cannot be sustained given present challenges, some of which threaten an institution's very existence. Establishing a "culture of creativity" is a crucial first step in developing solutions to confront these threats. Using an interactive approach, this session will provide participants with an understanding of the foundations and strategies needed to create a culture of creativity on their campuses.

Description:Explore past and present projects that have been enhanced by applying organizational development and leadership principles and practices. A panel of HR practitioners will describe and discuss specific projects they led and how organizational development influenced the roll-out of their project. Panelists will provide an overview of the project, how they approached thinking about the challenge, what actions and interventions were used, the status and outcomes, and lessons learned.

Description:With an ever-increasing demand to build competency-based learning and development approaches, CUPA-HR researched and implemented professional development pathways for association members to use on campus. Discussions will include practices for using career tools for growth and taking careers to the next level. Through discussion and exercises, learn how to interpret and use these methods to enhance learning and professional development for you and others on your campus.
